Orangeville to Host Boys Sixes Provincials
The Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) is excited to announce that The Town of Orangeville will serve as the host location for the Inaugural Boys Sixes Provincial Championship over the Thanksgiving Weekend. This two-day event will feature Ontario’s top young athletes competing for the first-ever Sixes provincial titles across multiple age divisions.
On Saturday, October 12, 2024, teams in the U11 and U13 divisions will take to the field, while the U9 division will compete on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Sixes lacrosse, the fast-paced, action-packed format introduced by World Lacrosse, is rapidly growing in popularity, driven in part by its inclusion in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
“We are proud to bring the first-ever Boys Sixes Provincials to Orangeville," said Peter Debrone, OLA Sixes Provincial Lead. “Sixes lacrosse has incredible potential, and this tournament will be an important milestone in its growth and development across Ontario. We're excited to crown our first provincial champions in this new format."
Fans, families, and local supporters are encouraged to attend and experience the excitement of Sixes lacrosse. With divisions ranging from U9 to U13, this tournament marks a key moment in the development of lacrosse across Ontario.
